Music by John Luther Adams, James Tenney, Lou Harrison, and Terry Riley

A new way of thinking about music-making—
intuitive, experimental, embracing repetition and a return to tonality—has marked much of the music coming from America’s other coastline. We sample three generations of composers from Alaska to California who put old and familiar sounds to new and unfamiliar uses, highlighting that über-classic of American Minimalism, Terry Riley’s In C.

Tickets: Adults $23; Seniors $18; Members $15; College Students $10; Children ages 5-17 $5
(Children under 5 not admitted)

Ticket prices include admission to the museum's three floors of galleries and all Gardner After Hours activities.
